"BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD". Psalms 33:12

Our security was woven into the very fabric of who we are as a people. In spite of how some attempt to rewrite our history, our forefathers established this country on the eternal principles of prayer and faith toward God. Angels hover over a praying nation. They protect her and watch over her children. They are alert and attentive to all her enemies, ready to protect her.

The nation, state, city or family that prays has a security that cannot be matched in the universe. There are no armies, no strategies, and no plans that can overpower the strength of a praying people. We value prayer. JOIN US IN AWAKENING HEARTS TO FERVENT PRAYER!

Nebraska Family Council established the State Capitol Prayer Walk in the Spring of 2002. The puropse is to unite pray-ers to intercede for Nebraska, particularly it's government. The biblical mandate that we pray for heads of state and all who are in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-4) carries a wonderful promise: that we will be able to live quiet, peaceful lives in safety and dignity, and that we will enjoy a continued atmosphere of religious freedom. The vital importance of these verses was certainly underscored by the September 11th attacks.

Was our nation founded on faith in God? Consider the witness of the Supreme Court Building, completed in 1932. Today, as the Justices enter the eastern portal of the building, they pass beneath a huge relief sculpture. The focal point of the sculpture is the image of Moses, holding the Ten Commandments. Hermon MacNeil, the architect chosen for designing this portal, ensured that our highest court in the land was yet another visible example of our nation's Godly heritage. Just 40 years earlier, the Supreme Court determined, "religion, morality, and knowledge are necessary to good government, the preservation of liberty, and the happiness of mankind".
